air flow dynamics or cfm and such(or spelling). But i do know that in cases were high speed water needed to be diffused it was run through hundreds of parralel tubes. think of it like a rubber hose packed with drinking straws. Doing this allowd the hose to be bent in any direction and still create a perfectly diffused stream. This logic could possibly be used to create a ram air diffuse box. maybe make a box that hangs down in the fascia that re directs air to the filters(possibly seal the intake into the end of the box) , and the front of the air box would have 3-4" tubes that bend up into the intake that would diffuse the air. This setup would probably need a special filter, and i guess the box wouldnt be placed in front of the oil cooler. or even better, put a air diffuser(like the hose) between the filter and the maf! then have the filters hang in front of the incoming air or create a simple intake duct. This is just a guess btw, a fairly un educated one. so dont think im trying to sound smart, im just throwing out ideas.
